Planted With Purpose: The Heart Behind Little Kingdom Builders

As a former educator, it breaks my heart to see how many children today have lost their love for reading. During my six years teaching reading and writing, I made it my mission to bring stories to life in my classroom—books weren't just words on a page; they were doors to wonder, learning, and purpose.

God blessed me with the gift of writing at a young age. I still remember my 7th grade teacher proudly sharing one of my writing pieces with all her classes as an example of strong writing. I never imagined that "little ol’ me" would one day grow up to write books—especially books that would point children to Christ. That’s nothing but the grace of God.

The vision behind Little Kingdom Builders was born from two burdens that have weighed heavily on my heart:

1. To help children fall in love with reading again—reading that not only captivates but also brings meaning to their lives.

2. To draw children back to God in a world full of distractions and distance from Him.

So many children today don’t know who God is. And even those who attend church can feel far from Him, caught in the noise of the world. My prayer is that these books offer more than just a good story—they offer truth, hope, and a personal connection to God's Word.

Each book is filled with relatable stories, scripture repeated in ways children can remember, and real-life situations that show kids how to live out their faith. I stand firmly on Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

That verse has been true in my own life. My parents planted the seed of faith in me from the beginning (yes, from the womb! 😄), and though I’ve had seasons of wandering, I always found my way back. That’s what I hope for every child who reads these books—seeds of faith planted so deeply that they never forget who they are in Christ.
